KNOWLEDGE EXTENSION PROGRAMME


Knowledge Extension Programme :



III B.Sc., Home Science students presented a knowledge extension programme on 1st, August, 2019 on the topic “LIQUID GOLD” under the guidance of ward tutor, Mrs. P. S. Bhanu Prasanna lecturer, Dept. of Home Science. Students explained about the importance of Breast Feeding, Advantages of  Breast Feeding to mother and Infant, Immunological, psychological and Physiological factors, Disadvantages of Prelacteal foods and bottle feeding etc,. Students used various methods like Skit, Videos and Power-point Presentation to express the importance of the Breast Feeding.


III B.Sc., Home Science students presented a knowledge extension programme on 20th September, 2018 on the topic “Educate A Woman, Empower A woman” under the guidance of ward tutor, Dr. Mrs. K. Rani, lecturer, Dept. of  Home Science. Students explained about various schemes which were introduced by our state and central government for the benefit of women. Students used various innovative methods like Puppet-show, Mime, Skit, Dance and Power-point Presentation to express the importance of the schemes which were run by our state and central government. Information about the schemes like Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram(JSSK), Bangaru Thalli, Sabala, Rashtriya Mahila Kosh(RMK), and SHE Teams was presented to create awareness among students.

Akarsh Club Activities




2019-2020

Akarsh Club Valedictory:

The Department of Home Science celebrated the Valedictory of “Akarsh Club” on 22nd February, 2020. The Chief Guest of the program was Dr.Sr.Marietta D’Mello. The student representatives of club groups laid down their office. The colorful day was made memorable with cultural programs performed by the students.


Pongal Celebrations

Pongal was celebrated on 3rd and 4th January, 2020 in Akarsh Club (Department of Home Science). I B. Sc Home Science Students celebrated by putting beautiful Rangoli Designs and III B. Sc Home Science Students has done Pongal Decoration.




Semi-Christmas Celebrations

Semi-Christmas was celebrated on 21st December, 2019 in Akarsh Club (Department of Home Science). The colorful day was made memorable with cultural programmes like skit on “Birth of Jesus”, dances and Carols.




AKARSH CLUB INAUGURATION

The Department of Home Science celebrated the Inaugural of “Akarsh Club” on 1st August, 2019. The Chief Guest of the program was Dr. N. Nagavardhanam, Former HOD, Department of Botany, Ch. S. D. St. Theresa’s College for Women (A), Eluru. The Chief Guest presented badges to the representatives of club groups. Dr. Sr. Marietta D’ Mello, Principal graced the occasion. Miss Home Science contest was conducted for the students and prizes were given to the winners of Miss Home Science, Miss Princess and Miss Sweety contest. The colorful day was made memorable with cultural programmes performed by Home Science students.




2018-2019

The Department of Home Science celebrated the Inaugural of “Akarsh Club” on 21st July, 2018. The Chief Guest of the programme was Mrs. N. Jaya Lakshmi, CDPO, Department of Child Welfare, Eluru (U). The Chief Guest presented badges to the representatives of club groups. Miss Home Science contest was conducted for the students and prizes were given to the winners of Miss Home Science contest. The colourful day was made memorable with cultural programmes.

Pongal was celebrated on 11th January, 2019 in Akarsh Club (Department of Home Science). I B. Sc Home Science Students celebrated by putting beautiful Rangoli Designs and III B. Sc Home Science Students has done Pongal Decoration.







On 15th February, 2019 “Jewellery Making” Competition was conducted in Akarsh Club (Department of Home Science). The students actively participated in the jewellery making competition. On 18th February, 2019 “Pass the Ball” game was conducted and the students enjoyed the game. Prize distribution for the winner’s of the competition and game will be held in Akarsh club valedictory function.

Swarna Latha Kumari, Dietician, District Government General Hospital, Eluru (U). The student representatives of club groups laid down their office. Prizes were given to the winners of “Jewellary Making” and “Pass the ball” Competitions. The colorful day was made memorable with cultural programs performed by the students.





ANGANWADI COURSE


The West Godavari District Collector Sri K. Bhasakar has envisaged a six month training programme to accord immense value to the experiences of the Anganwadi employees. Adikavi Nannayya University has designed this diploma programme in  both the Godavari Districts. The training programme was named as Smt. Dokka Seethamma Diploma programme for Anganwadi Employees.
                  This six months course will focus on updating the Anganwadi employees knowledge on Health and Nutrition, Functional English, Digital Literacy, Communication skills and Hygiene to be followed in the community. Adikavi Nannayya University has identified four centers in West Godavari District to conduct this programme.  Ch. S. D. St. Theresa’s College for Women (Autonomous), Eluru is one of the centre. In this center 290 candidates registered and classes will commence from 28th July onwards. The Anganwadi employees from Eluru Urban, Bhimadole, Pedapadu and Chinthalapudi projects will attend the course for a period of 6 months.
                    The Inaugural session started at 3.00pm on 22nd July, 2018 in the college auditorium. All the registered candidates attended the session. The occasion was graced by Dr. T. Hymavathi, Principal, College of Science and Technology,ANUR and Convenor of the programme as the Chief Guest. She enlightened the Anganwadi workers on the importance of the course and benefits gained by the persons who attend this course. She also created awareness on the various subjects the candidates will learn in the duration of six months.  Dr. Sr. Mercy, Principal of the college explained about the theme of the programme and the services rendered by Smt. Dokka Seethamma garu for the poor.  Guest of Honor Maj. Dr. P. M. Celine Rose raised enthusiasm in the Anganwadi workers so that they can put their complete self in involving in the diploma course.
                        The programme came to an end at 5.00 pm after the interaction of the participants with the Convenor, Course Coordinator and faculty of the diploma course.
