On 20th, 21st and 23rd September 2019, the department of Home Science exhibited articles prepared by the I B.Sc Home Science students during their workshop.
Principal Sister Dr.Sr.Marietta D’Mello, Vice Principal& PG Director Dr.Sr.Showrilu, Sr.Inyasiamma, Administrative Officer and staff members of other departments visited the exhibition and appreciated the students. Students of other departments also visited.

Stay
Final
year Home Science students underwent cottage stay experience in three batches.
The duration of the programme was from 9th November, 2019 to 29th
November, 2019. The main objective of cottage stay was group living, decision
making, account keeping and management of available resources. Students
performed various duties such as Cook, Maid, Waitress, Hostess, Treasurer and
their assistants during the stay.
EXHIBITION:

Wednesday, 8th August 2018, the department of Home Science exhibited
articles prepared by the I B.Sc Home Science and D.F.D. students during their
workshop.
Principle
sister Dr.Sr.Mercy, Controller of Examination Sr.Suneela Rani and staff members
of other departments visited the exhibition and appreciated the students.
Students of other departments were also visited.
COTTAGE STAY
Final year Home Science students underwent cottage
stay experience in three batches. The duration of the programme was from 10th
November, 2018 to 3rd December, 2018. The main objective of cottage
stay was group living, decision making, and management of available resources.
Students performed various duties such as Cook, Maid, Waitress, Hostess,
Treasurer and their assistants during the stay.
Earn While You Learn
B.Kiranmayi and B.Vasanthi of I B. Sc Home science has
earned handful of money by putting Mehandi in a Mehandi function through “Earn
while you learn program”.
Nutri-Cuisine
III
B.Sc. H.Sc students were given an experience of organizing ‘Nutri-Cuisine’ low cost and nutritious
recipe preparation on 7th February, 2019. The students were
encouraged to prepare 10 different items and were
able to gain marketing skills and quantity cooking. The experience makes them to
learn techniques of doing business to empower themselves.
v COTTAGE STAY: Cottage
stay experience was given for the third B.Sc Home Science students. This is meant to help them to experience group living, practice values, set
goals, decision making and management of resources for a period of 6-8 days in
a group 6-8 students.
v CAAD: Computer
Aided Apparel Designing is an add-on course for III B.Sc Home Science students.
It is introduced in V semester and continued during VI semester. CAAD
inculcates and enhances the skill of Textile and Apparel Designing. Students
learn various options like Array, Copy, Move, Mirror image, Hatch pattern etc
which enable them to create and enhance the beauty of the design. If it is
practiced well students get employment opportunities in Fashion Industry. This
course is guided by Dr.K.Rani.
v Canteen experience: Canteen was organized by the III B.Sc Home Science students as a part of their learning
experience under the paper titled Food Service Management under the guidance of
Dr.M.Padmaja. Organization of canteen helps the students to Know about
quantitative cookery, marketing for provisions, financial management, pricing a
dish and selling products. All this enables them to gain experience in running
a small food service institute.
v EARN WHILE YOU LEARN :
An Exhibition was organized by II and III BSc. HSc. students. The exhibits include glass painting, mural work,
varli painting, pot painting, kalamkari painting, coffee painting. The
exhibition was open to all staff and students of St. Theresa’s Autonomous
College For Women, Eluru. Many staff and students visited the exhibition and
appreciated the students. Students were able to gain remuneration by supplying
sprouts, sale of glass paint wall hangings, Jewellery and Greeting cards made
out of Quilling Art, by doing facial make up for more than 100 students during
college day celebration and also gained by putting Mehandi in a marriage
function.
v EXHIBITION
CUM SALE :
Students of Bsc. HSc. had organized an Exhibition
Cum Sale. The items displayed
include Glass painting, mural work, varli painting, quilling, handmade
earrings, coffee painting. The exhibits
were kept for sale. The Staff and students of various departments encouraged
and appreciated the efforts made by the students.
v SUBJECT AND GENERAL ELECTIVES: In
this academic year during the BOS Meeting suggestions were made to incorporate
Entrepreneurship Artistry / Disaster Management in the V semester and CAAD/Sociology in the VI semesters as subject and general electives respectively.
v SELF STUDY PAPER: Self
study paper “Entrepreneurship Artistry” is designed to offer from the forth
coming academic year.
