71st
Republic Day Celebrations were conducted at Ch.S.D.St.Theresa’s college for
Women (A), Eluru on 26th January, 2020. Dr.K.Rani Associate
Professor, Department of Home Science was the chief guest. She enlightened the
students on the importance of constitution of India. Guest of honour
Dr.K.V.Padmavathi HOD of Home Science wished the gathering. College principal
Dr.Sr.Marietta D’ Mello extended her warm wishes to the staff and students of
the college.
Dr.M.Padmaja,
Lecturer in Home Science attended Board of Studies Meeting as subject expert on
9th December 2019 at Maris Stella College, Vijayawada.
Paramarsh Activities
On
January 3rd, 2020, Dr.K.Rani visited to Prakasam Degree College,
Koyyalagudem as a part of PARAMARSH PROGRAME.
On December 16th, 2019, Dr.M.Padmaja visited to Aditya Degree College, Eluru as a part of PARAMARSH PROGRAME.

November 16th, 2019, Dr.K.Rani gave a talk in PARAMARSH meeting on
the topic “Formation of IQAC-NAAC criteria”.
- · On 7th June 2018, Dr. K. V. Padmavathi of Home Science Department, presented topic on “TEAM WORK” to young faculty members which was organized by T-Tips.
- On 8th June 2018, Dr. K. Rani, of Home Science Department, presented topic on “Teaching Learning Principles” to young faculty members which was organized by T-Tips.
ORIENTATION
TO Ist YEARS

On 19th June 2018, Dr. K.
Rani, of Home Science Department gave a clear picture about the “Certificate,
Add-on and Cluster Courses” to the first years during orientation.
- Ms.T.Jhansi Lakshmi of Home Science Department gave
a talk to women cell students on 13th November, 2018 on the topic “Government
schemes for the benefit of women and girl child”. The intention of the lecture
is to create awareness among students about various central and state
government schemes for their social and economic development. Various schemes
covered during the talk were Beti Bachao - Bati Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi Account,
Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Kishori Shakti Yojana, Chandranna Pelli
Kanuka, A.P. Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestam, Swadhar Greh, etc.
- Dr. M. Padmaja of Home Science Department gave a talk to P.G Economic students on 8th January, 2019 on the topic “Reproductive Health”. The intention of the lecture is to create awareness among students about Family Planning Methods, Conception and Statistics related to health etc…
2016-2017
Dr. M.Padmaja has created awareness
on “General facilities in the college” during Orientation for I yrs on June 20th,
2016 in the College auditorium. Dr. K.Rani was one of the judges for Ms.Fresher contest held
at college level on 25th June, 2016. Dr.K.Rani was external member of BOS
meeting held at ASD Govt. College, Kakinada on 22 July, 2016. Dr. M.Padmaja attended BOS meeting
for PG Courses at Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajamahendravaram on 8th
July, 2016. Dr.K.Rani was convener of BOS meeting of
Home Science held at Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmahendravaram. Dr. K.Rani was judge for poster
painting competition on “Swatcha Andhra Pradesh” organized by Physics
department on 22nd August 2016. Dr. K.Rani and Dr. M.Padmaja were in
charge of kho-kho and volley ball in Intramurals
conducted in college respectively on 22nd and 23rd August
2016. Dr.Sr. Mercy won I place in Throw Ball in Intramurals on 23rd August 2016. Dr. M.Padmaja won I place in Shot put, Javelin Throw and
Throw Ball in Intramurals on 23rd August 2016. Dr. M.Padmaja acted as one of the
judges for recipe contest conducted in Oxford school on 24th
September, 2016. Dr. M. Padmaja was invited as
external member for project viva in B.Com department in Board – II on 2nd
November, 2016. Dr. K.Rani was invited as one of the
judges for greeting card competition organized by English department on 28th
November, 2016. Dr. M.Padmaja acted as one of the
judges for District level Rangoli competition conducted by NSS on 30th
November, 2016. Dr. K.Rani and Dr. M.Padmaja have
accompanied Autonomy Review Committee members on their visit to our college on
8th and 9th December, 2016. Dr. M.Padmaja and Ms. T. Jhansi
Lakshmi along with II B.Sc H.Sc students participated in ‘Swatcha Sarvekshan’, a National level programme organized by State
Government which covered 13 wards of Eluru on 10th January, 2017. Members of Home Science department were in
charge of felicitations to Chief Guest and Guest of Honor on the 64th
College day. On 9th February, 2017 Dr.
M.Padmaja acted as one of the judges for traditional dress competition as a
part of Ethnic week celebrations organized by Dept. of Social Sciences. Dr. M. Padmaja was the Chief Guest for Sports
Day at Sidhvi – El- Fins school on 11th Februaury, 2017.
2015-2016
On 28th May, 2015
Dr.K.V.Padmavathi was invited as one of the Committee members to conduct
interview for the appointment of teaching associates in FRM for Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University,
College of Home science, Guntur. Dr. K.Rani was one of the judges for
Ms.Fresher contest held at college
level. Dr. K.Rani and Dr.M.Padmaja were
allotted spoken English Crash Course
for I B.Sc H.Sc and ZNC. Dr.M.Padmaja was one of the judges
for Friendship Day celebrations at
Hotel Ambica flavours. Dr. K.Rani was one of the judges for
Skit and Fancy dress competition of ‘Yuvatharang’ of PGs organized by MBA
department. Dr. K.Rani was one of the judges for

Elocution competition organized by Social Sciences department and sponsored
by Forum of Free Enterprises, Mumbai. Dr. K.Rani was one of the judges for Flower Bouquet competition organized by Botany department as part of
Botany Week Celebrations. Dr.M.Padmaja was one of the judges
for PPT presentation on ‘Plants Role
in Nature’ organized by Botany department as part of Botany Week Celebrations. Dr. K.Rani attended BOS meeting as external member at ASD Govt. College for women at Kakinada. Dr. K.Rani was External examiner for Diploma
in Fashion Designing theory and practical exams. Mrs. P.S. Bhanu Prasanna and III
B.Sc H.Sc students gave Demonstration on
Quilling Art for the students of
Center for Women’s Studies. Dr.K.Rani was one of the judges for Model Making competition organized by
Zoology department as part of College youth Festival. Dr.M.Padmaja was one of the judges
for Traditional Dress competition
organized as part of College youth
Festival. Dr.M.Padmaja was one of the judges
for Essay Writing competition
organized as part of District NSS youth Festival. Dr.K.Rani
and Dr.M.Padmaja were in charge for the College Day
Invitation and all the homescience faculty for the Back Drop Decoration on the eve of 63rd College Day
Celebration. Dr.K.Rani was one of the judges for Fancy Dress and Dance Competition organized by MBA department as part of ‘Innoman’ celebration. Dr.M.Padmaja was one of the judges
for PPT presentation organized by
MBA department as part of ‘Innoman’
celebration. Dr.M.Padmaja was invited to deliver
a talk in a symposium on the occasion of women empowerment week celebration on
the topic importance of Nutrition and
Hygiene for Women organized by SETWEL.
2014-2015
Dr.K.V.Padmavathi
gave an orientation talk to first year students at the college level about
women empowerment cell and the activities of Centre for Women’s Studies during
the orientation programme organized for the first years on 2nd July
2014. Dr.K.Rani
enlightened first year students during the orientation programme on 2nd
July 2014 about the importance of attendance and uniform during the college
sessions on a regular basis. Dr.K.Rani along with a team of faculty from the college
visited Layola Academy, St.Francis, Nizam’s and Bhavan’s college Hyderabad as
per the instructions of commissioner of DHE . Aim of the visit was to observe
various aspects of centre of excellence on 23rd and 24th July 2014. Dr.K.Rani along with Dr.R.Madhavi of English
departments visited centres of excellence at Chennai. Four colleges visited
were Layola Academy, Madras Christian college, Women’s Christian College,
Women’s Christian College and Gurunanak College from 11th to 14th
August2014. Dr.K.V.Padmavathi
attended National Workshop on Gender Discrimination at SKSD Mahila
Kalasala,Tanuku and was invited as the Resource Person for Technical Session
and presented paper on the topic AREAS OF GENDER DISCRIMINATION during the
women’s equity day celebrations on 26th August 2014. Dr.K.Rani
was invited as judge to evaluate recipes prepared with millets competition
conducted during Nutrition week celebrations. Dr.M.Padmaja
was invited as the resource person for seminar SCENTIA and gave lecture on
FOOD-AN OOZING CHARM FOR EVERY PORE organized by Layola Academy, Hyderabad on
10th October 2014.Dr.M.Padmaja
gave talk on NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIEY DISORDERS for pregnant women of
Kavvagunta during NSS Special Camp of Unit –I organized by the Programme
officer Dr.Nagavardhanam 21st October 2014.Dr.K.Rani
and Dr.M.Padmaja took lead role in completing successfully AQAR(Annual Quality
Assurance Report) and was sent to NAAC, Bangalore. Dr.K.Rani
assisted Dr.R.Madhavi in writing CPE Phase – II report. International
conference was organized by the English department in collaboration with AKNU
on the topic “The Challenges Of Moving Ahead: From Deprival To Dignity Of Dalits.”
6th to 8th Nov’2014. Home science staff took part in its
organization Dr.K.V.Padmavathi and
Dr.M.Padmaja members of the advisory committee. Incharge of conference kit,
Dr.K.Rani incharge of decoration and catering, Dr.M.Padmaja incharge of souvenir,Mrs.P.S.BhanuPrasanna
incharge of flexes and arrangement for the sessions. All the Home science faculty attended International
conference. Dr.M.Padmaja
gave five talks in Doordharsan Kendra, Vijayawada, on the topics-vitamins and
nutritional deficiencies, Nutrition for pregnant women, Nutrition during old
age, Food habits for children, Diabetes-Dietary Management and they were
telecasted on 12th,13th ,14th ,15th
and 16th November 2014. Dr.M.Padmaja
and Mrs.P.S.Bhanu Prasanna gave talk to Anganwadi workers on the topics
Nutrition for preschoolers and concept of preschool education reepectively at
Anganwadi traininc centre, Eluru, on 11th December 2014. Dr.K.Rani
and Dr.M.Padmaja were invited as judges for Mehandi competition conducted by
Dept. of Social Sciences as a part of Ethnic week celebrations on 16th
December 2014. Dr.K.Rani
was invited as judge for Greeting card competition conducted by Dept. of PG English
on 23rd December 2014. Dr.K.V.Padmavathi
was invited as judge for Greeting card competition conducted by Dept. of UG English
september 2014. Dr.K.Rani
was invited as judge to evaluate recipes prepared with millets competition
conducted during Nutrition week celebrations. Dr.M.Padmaja
was invited as chief guest for the annual sports meet of Sidhvi-El-Fins – The
Preschool Pioneer at PLEASURE GROUNDS of Siddartha Vidyalaya-Eluru on 31st
December 2014. Dr.M.Padmaja
has been selected as District Resource Person by CARE INDIA. Dr.K.Rani
is one of the masters of ceremony for the college day celebrations.
International
Women’s Day celebration was organized by Prajapitha Brahmakumaris of
Sreeramnagar, Eluru for which Dr.K.V.Padmavathi and Dr.M.Padmaja were invited
as Guests for the programme on women empowerment and on the occasion of the
inaugural of Deaddiction Centre and as Judges for the cooking competition on 8th
March 2015.
Dr.M.Padmaja

2013-2014
- Dr.K.V.Padmavathi,
the chairman of UG Homescience Board of AKNU, Rajahmundry attended first joint boards meeting at Adi
Kavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry on 15th June for an orientation
talk by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of Academic affairs of the
University and RJD.
- Dr.K.V.Padmavathi,
the chairman and Dr.G. Nalini Kumari, member of UG Homescience Board of AKNU,
Rajahmundry attended first boards
of studies meeting at Adi Kavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry on 20th
June to discuss and prepare homescience course syllabus and other details.
- Dr.K.V.Padmavathi,
has been nominated as the chairman of UG Board of studies in Home science of
Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry for a period of one year with effect
from 01-02-2013 to 31-01-2014. She attended the first meeting of UG joint Board
of studies on 15th June 2013 at AKNU, Rajahmundry.
- Dr.G.Nalini kumari continues to be the
chairman BOS in Homescience, Andhra University, for this academic year also.
She was also nominated as Member, UG Board of studies in Homescience,
AKNU,Rajahmundry.
- Dr.G.Nalini
kumari also attended BOS meeting at AKNU on20th June 2013 and
submitted syllabus for the subject Human Development.
- All Home science faculty were
actively involved in Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the college from 3rd
February 2014 to 8th February 2014.
- Dr.K.V.Padmavathi-Member-organizing
committee, Designed Invitation for Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Coordinator-EDU FEST on 4th February,
Incharge of catering for VIP’S.
- Dr.G.Nalini
kumari-Vice President-Theresian Alumnae Association and Organized TAA Diamond
Jubilee meet on 7th February. Incharge for catering.
- Dr.K.Rani-
Secretary IQAC. Incharge of stage setting and backdrop for all the events of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
